Is there a view out there that gives you more of a 3D representation of the storm because I would love to see how tall the inner wall of that eye is with it being so clear down to the ocean right now?

Damn, 140MPH now. That's quite the increase in 3 hours. 15mph increase vs 4mb pressure drop. Wonder if they got a bad reading on the winds last time

Lake Charles gets smoked on the 12z HWRF. Houston looks to be dodging a disaster

Lake Charles gets smoked on the 12z HWRF. Houston looks to be dodging a disaster Yea, Lake Charles is in trouble. They can only hope it wobbles slightly to the right, keeping the worst of the wind and surge in the right front quadrant to their east.

Satellite imagery keeps getting more and more impressive. 42 mb pressure drop in 21 hours. It has one hour to beat Michael’s drop rate.

Laura could go all the way to a cat 5. I'm thinking 155 to 160mph winds at landfall.

The eye reminds me of Katrina at this stage... huge just before fast intensification and shrinking as it came ashore.

Katrina was weakening pretty fast when it made landfall, it was a cat 2 when it went into LA.

Last one with the setting sun. Brings out the stadium effect with the sun shining on the eastern eyewall

About as picturesque of a hurricane as you’ll see Totally agree, been watching sat all afternoon mesmerized by the perfection of this storm right now, it's a shame such perfection comes at such a cost to others

Here's my contribution to the public today. What an unreal storm. Great job Luke! Awesome tv persona! Loved how you really pushed the storm surge threat! Folks just dont realize how bad storm surge is.

Last few frames it almost looks like it might be getting ready to go through a eye replacement cycle. Kind of has the wobble look.

There's no radar representation or any info from the plane that indicates an eyewall replacement will happen before landfall

I could be wrong...but I'm almost sure you can make out a hurricane hunter aircraft on the last satellite loop coz posted...look ESE of the eye towards the outer band of storms and you can see a wake headed towards the eyewall. Spectacular.

Spectacular. That’s been getting quite a bit of attention online. I’ve seen some claiming it’s evidence of some “seeding” experiment lol
