I could be wrong...but I'm almost sure you can make out a hurricane hunter aircraft on the last satellite loop coz posted...look ESE of the eye towards the outer band of storms and you can see a wake headed towards the eyewall. Spectacular. That’s really cool.

Looks to me like a little wobble to the west is taking place

That storm is a beast. Unbelievable, how these things take off like rockets.
There is a lot of hurricane season left, but this one will be tough to top

Mike Bettes on twc just said 158 mph measured in northern eyewall. I actually like twc for hurricane coverage and really like Bettes.

Gunna be a long night for the chasers trying to ride this one out on the coast. Looks like its gunna be intesifing cat 5 into the landfall.

We may never know, but my guess is surge may actually push 25+ feet in a narrow corridor just east of landfall.

Spectacular. That’s been getting quite a bit of attention online. I’ve seen some claiming it’s evidence of some “seeding” experiment lol Wow. That is interesting. I don't see a flight log matching that trajectory at that time. I agree. This is most likely caused by an aircraft. Maybe a research flight?

Recon coming in for another eye pass. What will they find? CAT5 Did you see my post about the aircraft being visible on satellite? Curious if you agree with my assessment. If that's what it is...it's the coolest thing I've ever seen in my 30+ years of weather watching. This new era of imagery is incredible.

I saw somewhere on twitter that it matched up with a flight into Laura. It might have been a research flight. Very cool stuff to see

What are you getting for propagation speed. I'm getting 25kts. And this feature must be way up there if we are seeing it at the cirrus level...50k ft or so. I think it's natural, but it looks so un-natural so I don't know.

I’m frustrated- is it in the clear sky area If I'm looking at the same thing it looks like it's in the cirrus between the overshooting feeder band storms and the eyewall storms ESE of the eye and darting right towards the eye between about 21:30z and 22:00z.

I’m frustrated- is it in the clear sky area If you look at your sun setting image and take Eastern Cameron county as Noon on a clock face, look at 3:30. You should see a darting line towards the eye

Ryan Maue has a retweeted tweet from Levi Cowan of the flight path of one of the planes super-imposed at 22:55z. That flight path is running diagonal to the latitude/longitude lines. I agree though, whatever it is, it is stunning.

If you look at your sun setting image and take Eastern Cameron county as Noon on a clock face, look at 3:30. You should see a darting line towards the eye Maybe an overshooting top that got disconnected and pulled in by the pressure gradient force? But then you'd expect at least some N/S propagation to it right? Shadow, maybe? I was really rooting for aircraft...lol
