A fog has rolled into town and heavy mist. Drizzle gives you a hint as to how shallow these low clouds are. Sunshine should chew up the southeast edge of the clouds pretty quickly this morning.

I could use some good thoughts the next few days. Our pup, Daisy, has a lot of issues and we are having to make a very difficult decision. At some point in the next couple days we are likely to send her over the rainbow to chase rabits, squirrles and the UPS guy up there. My poor wife is at home with her now and its been a rough night.

Ugh, always so tough to make that decision. I know Daisy has had a rough time for a while I think. My thoughts are with your family Chris. Give her a memorable day or 2 if possible.

We were hoping to wait until Saturday, but I'm not sure we will be able to wait that long based on what my wife is saying.

Dogs are so great and make me despise people a little more each day.

In other animal news, I found my first wolly worms yesterday while running. They were almost 100% brown... not black. Sorry guys, no winter this year.

So sorry to hear Chris. Definitely one of the hardest things. Amazing what impact those hairy little creatures can have on us.

Sorry to hear that Chris. About this time last year we got the cancer diagnosis on our beloved dog - thank you for your advice when I reached out to you. Knowing the right time was incredibly difficult. It just sort of clicked for us in those final couple of days. Even though my priorities have shifted since then with the birth of my son, I still miss him dearly. The night we had to have someone come and do it there was a beautiful sunset, and there was one like it each Friday night for the next 4 weeks afterward. Everytime my wife and I see a sunset like that we think of him, and thank him!

Echoing the others, Chris. They are so much a part of the family as any child. I'll say prayers that your family finds peace through the turmoil

Sad to hear Chris.
Got some good news this morning. We put a contract on a house and it was accepted today. So should be moving before winter! New place is in Fletcher MO. NO FLOOD ZONE lol. We will be keeping our current house in St Clair still just as a weekend thing in the summer.

So sorry Chris. I hope you have the option to do it at home. I wish I could have done that with my cat, but I panicked.

So sorry Chris. I hope you have the option to do it at home. I wish I could have done that with my cat, but I panicked. I second this. Our regular vet had just broken her leg a couple days before so I spent the entire day trying to find a vet that could come to the house and finally did, for the right price. Still glad we went that route.

The pictures coming out of San Francisco this morning are crazy. Wildfire smoke makes it look like something straight from a sci-fi movie

Sad news Chris. Never an easy thing to go. Hoping for what ever you guys decide, that you know it will be the right choice. Don't beat yourselves up on any right or what you may think is a wrong decision. We all give our pets the best life and honor them in the best way we can during their final days.

As someone that had to do this with a dog a few years back, it's really hard to decide to do it, and it's hard to decide how to do it. You're not going to do this wrong.
I'm sorry that you have to say goodbye to Daisy.

I'm sorry Chris! Daisy, I'm sure has had a wonderful life so far thanks to you and your family! Hang in there. We lost our black lab (Cash) in Dec 2018...he was almost 15.5 years old (2ish weeks away). It isn't a fun time. We ended up getting a new black lab puppy almost 3 weeks ago (Shaq) and I end up catching myself calling him Cash. It takes a long time to get over your loss, we waited awhile before getting a new dog. Peaceful days ahead for Daisy!
