FFW up along HWY 54 in MO. Turbo convergence looks to develop along the weak frontal boundary tonight... VVELs @h7 look pretty juicy. Looks to get a little bit of LLJ aid too.

Did it rain at all last night over around Eureka about 9:30 pm? I truly believe my Mom has dementia because she swears that the ground last night was white with sleet. If it at least rained, I could justify part of that story. Thanks!

1. I’m sorry to hear this Chris about your pup, Daisy. Our pups or really animal for that matter becomes like family and it’s never easy to lose a family member. My thoughts are with you and the family. You guys will be reunited again one day. 2. I wanna talk real quick and maybe have a little discussion about our recent storm here in Colorado. We didn’t end up with as much snow as forecasted but I do wonder if the Cameron Peak Fire and the smoke plum had something to do with it. Reed Timmer tweeted this and I thought it was interesting because it did seem like freezing rain was present and possibly the smoke did get wrapped into the storm causing less snowfall and more freezing rain/sleet.

Search this..."smoke aerosol meteorology" I'd say that's a reasonable conclusion, even though he doubted himself, lol.

Sally has me very concerned for New Orleans to Mobile. Taking very similar track and intensity forecast as Katrina. Only thing that might stop that from happening is another trough of low pressure in the western Gulf of Mexico which should add some additional shear to hamper any rapid strengthening.

Sally is now forecast to hit with 85 Mph winds.... this thing has trouble written all over it.... with the angle it’s coming in it would just pile water into New Orleans

HWRF was good with the last significant one. It shows low end Category 3 potential.
Could be a storm with significant ramifications given the potential impact zone
