Sunday's wave is still tracking close enough for southern areas to keep an eye on...but it's not looking good for the metro for any snow chances. The Fgen band on Saturday has trended further north and weaker. Not much to speak of, except for beneficial rain and cooler post-frontal temperatures.

The system coming through middle of next week still looks good to me...a bit lacking in the deep moisture department but a very supportive track of the mid-level system and the cold air is actually in place this go around. That's a watcher for sure.

It’d be nice to just have some mood snow! A inch or two just for Christmas or before! I don’t expect a lot til 2021!

STGOutdoors did you see the 12z NAM? It's bringing the weekend storm into your neck of the woods!

STGOutdoors did you see the 12z NAM? It's bringing the weekend storm into your neck of the woods! Yea it's trying, but has really no support. May squeeze out a period of light snow...unless things change once the current system is out of the picture. Pretty frustrating to see a nice swath of snow in OK and SWMO vanish before your eyes!

2 days of upper 60s out of 31 days haha! Not uncommon in Dec. Every since I've followed weather (10-12 yrs not that long compare to others on here), it seems more times than not we see 60s one day every Dec (sometimes more, but my mind could be foggy). 🤷♂️ i just got married in 1984, and was finishing up school at cape. in early december in 1984, we got 8 inches of snow abt this time (dec 8 i think). within 2 or 3 days, there was a big warmup. temps were outrageous all the way through Christmas Eve. that night the temp plummeted to 33 and the temp was seasonal rest of december. bees and wasps came into our house and my brother waa stung on christmas eve. but the winter was snowy. the winter total for snow was something along the lines of 44 inches in cape, rivaling snow totals in chicago. while cape was getting hit over and over, st louis was being missed in every way imaginable. this board would have been put on suicide watch. even forecasts of flurries in cape turned into fluke 5 inch snowstorms. this happened over and over.december warmth like what we just saw always happen in this part of the country. always. no, adj, i dont consider upper 60s that close to 70 when it comes to public forecasts. theres a perception in the masses that 70 is a milestone and i think public mets are very careful b4 they forecast 70 in the winter. the same can be said when forecasting 80 for the first time in the spring. be careful with the msg you send when you carelessly throw stuff out there. your under 5 inches forecast is fine. but your record warm december followed with avg to warm december is a credibility killer.

Yeah true. But all I'm saying is that upper 60s one day in Dec is pretty common in MO. We have only had 2 days in the 60s out of 31 so I agree with you that we don't even be close to a record warm Dec. Ajd446's record warm Dec prediction is way off. Edit: haha my bad, thought you were directing your comment to me, but it's toward Ajd446.

I know this isn't a grammar board, but there is a difference between lose and loose. My shoestrings are loose. The cards will probably lose against the Braves.
I see it everywhere all the time and it's just odd.

That's a watcher for sure. See a lot of favorable things for the mid week system- even the models which print little or no snow have upper air support around here.

I just don't think the midweek system has the moisture to produce much around here beyond a few flakes or snowshowers. But who knows.

GEM crushes the midweek storm out of existence When I started reading this I had a nano-second of hope until the words "out of existence" trickled through my slow brainwave activity. I would like to suggest my vote for the use of the word "crush", or any variation of it, be strictly used for what we all would like to see with an obvious nod of respect toward Friv. Just my suggestion.

06z Euro ensembles still showed some hope for the Sunday system. I'm just hoping to see flakes at this point I noticed the 00z was showing a bit of PVA and maybe some Fgen along 44 for a brief period Sunday. But the primary forcing is still well off to the south.
