30+ for the winter? How’s about a snow one can shovel? Just one?

30+ for the winter? How’s about a snow one can shovel? Just one? It's been a year since I've received more than a dusting. I'd be thrilled with 1-2" of snow at this point

Yes gem actually did take a big jump west . unfortunately this storm is all but over . Models are not going to magically drop southeast 300-500 miles in the next couple days. Now I think our only hope is a few hours of freezing rain Thursday night , that might even be a stretch depending on the initial strength of the WAA

Guys dont give up yet. Models could still come back east a bit to give us some love.
Plus this was always suppose to be more rain then anything. I'm just hoping we actually see some snow at some point during the event. If not, we can all drive west and north for some...😳

Ukie throws us some scraps Friday night and Saturday with some light snow from backside energy Have to wonder if the final trailing piece of energy may become the primary winter weather driver around here...models have hinted at that potential here and there.

There looks to be some complicated Fujiwara interaction between the two pieces of southern energy. Then another piece of energy comes screaming off the pacific as the trailing energy is ejecting. A lot going on there

They have the low going from Oklahoma almost into Kansas...we’ll be probably hitting close to 50 on Friday. At this point most of Missouri is out for snow . This will likely give Iowa two more winter storm warnings this week. They are on pace for an awesome winter

I'll add a LOL!
Anyway, I'm fine with no snow this week. We are moving into our new house and have two PODS to unload this week so if there was ever a week where I'm ok with no snow it's this week. Let's hope January can bring something. Is the polar vortex still expected to split next month?

Euro also has some light snow Saturday like the ukie. It’s a long shot but maybe we can get atleast some flakes from the trailing energy

Anything but heavy rain for me.

Let's hope January can bring something. Is the polar vortex still expected to split next month? I came across an article that said alot of the cold air dump is likely out into the Pacific recently, but the article was dated a few days ago, and it was on a tv station link. It reasoned that since that was the dominant global pattern so far this year, that it would likely be the case. IOW, "winner takes all" kind of reasoning. I honestly hadn't heard that any part of the world has had a severe winter so far, but, I'm a believer that the ssw lends itself to a change in wx patterns, including abnormal warmth prior to feeling the cold effects of the ssw.
