Feel like I just plowed the north 40. The moles have taken over sections of the front and back yard. Between the heat, humidity and "plowing" I am absolutely whooped. Enjoy your day. The Moles have been absolutely insane this Summer. Whole Neighborhood is infested with at least a couple in almost every yard. Ridiculous! Having that problem here as well.

Same here with the mole problem. Managed to get two of them within the last three weeks but I cant get to the third one and figure more are on the way. Destructive little critters.

Couple of things of interest Thursday evening as far as storms. The amount of DCAPE the models show- the NAM having 1900J/KG+ with the initial mid level dry air, then PWs pooling to well over 2" along the front. Storms look to be scattered but looks like a good set up for some severe wind.

Concerning tomorrow... Area soundings from this morning were already measuring 850mb temps in the 20-22C range and essentially all models are indicating that thermal ridge warms to 24C. Typically in the summer with southwest or westerly winds and dry conditions that would just about guarantee 100+. But conditions have been wet recently and possiblity of winds veering a bit more with the approaching front and dewpoint pooling may throttle max temp a bit.

Yeah HRRR and NAM3k trying to get storms going later in the evening tomorrow with the NAM more aggressive and SPC highlighting northern half of area with marginal risk.

Same. I've gotten 3 of them this year, but the third one was tough; and I haven't been able to track down the one running around now. I don't get too worked up about it if they stay out in the 3 acres of "whatever grows". When they get in the acre that I actually planted in grass, that's when I get all Carl Spackler on 'em.

Potentially a bad set-up today in WI for Oshkosh AirVenture 2021, with over 50K people and over 8K aircraft spread out on the grounds at EAA.

NAM has temps near 60 with heavy rain mid afternoon Saturday I dunno about 60* but models have been hinting at a backbuilding line of storms developing NW to SE across the area, favoring the N half to 2/3rds. Could see some heavy rainfall.

I did look it up about a year ago and my impression was smoke densities like there was today have been shown to suppress temperatures by 1-2F. I'm unsure whether the NBM contains smoke aerosol inputs. The NBM shows 100F tomorrow but given the +2F bias today we might be tempted to knock off 2F for tomorrow. But...smoke densities will wane beginning tomorrow morning. I think I'll toss my hat into the 99F camp too.

My god, the humidity is just awful. You know it's gonna be a steamer when it's almost 80* at sunrise with thick ground fog.

Several stations across IA and IL are reporting dewpoints above 80. A lot of upper 70s in MO.
Belleville currently reporting dewpoint of 84 with a heat index of 119. Not sure if that Td reading is correct or not, but damn...

Looks like any actual ambient 100*F degree plus readings won't happen thanks to convective debris clouds, but as mentioned the DP and humidity more than make up for it with 105-120 HI values. Would quantify it as Excessive Heat Warning Criteria for heat index severity if nothing else even though it's just a day. Tonight into Lunchtime tomorrow could be interesting depending on how organized convection gets north and west and how it propagates into the region this evening. Some models not showing much of anything but others are giving us a decent soak especially Saturday morning into mid-day with a break before more storms might fire Saturday evening into overnight especially along and south of I-70/I-64 (MO/IL). Kinda of miss from an interesting extreme weather perspective miss the half nation covering Excessive Heat Warnings then to have a dose of hoodie weather front (Strong early season cold front) just sweep it away north to south. Getting it now but with mostly advisories with some embedded Warnings. Some models on Saturday barely have us passing 70 for a high. Likely over done on the cool but would be impressive. Would likely be a 'balmy 70' rather than a refreshing 70 like in October or even later September.

Looks like storms are struggling to develop across MO...I would imagine mid-level temps are pretty toasty putting a lid on things for now.
