C'mon line of showers!! You can do it! Although it will be like pouring a cup of water on campfire. All it will probably do is add more steam to the atmosphere. I'll just repeat my post from last night.

I’m guessing we will see some storms into the metro late tonight/ tomorrow am. The heat warning is in jeopardy again for the Metro if you believe the 00z HRRR...brings that cluster further S right through the central CWA mid-morning and keeps showers and storms around past lunch time.

It's moving along a pretty good CAPE gradient... right into the metro. Hopefully keeps it developing/going.

That's a lot of water being put down up in northern MO. Hopefully we can all luck into some before tomorrow is over.

Looks like you have some pretty good rain headed your way BRTN Got another token quarter inch in the gauge...better than nothing but not nearly enough. Looks like the bulk of this morning's complex is going to track across W/Central IL...I'm shocked. But it is spreading clouds in and there's some popcorn stuff bubbling along it's S flank.

I couldn’t tell you what time but we had something pop up on us overnight in Ofallon, IL and drop .62. The loudest thunder I have ever heard.

I think we could technically drop heat headlines now for the metro and points north, I-70 Corridor in MO, and along and north of I-64 in Illinois. Looks like rain and storms will be close enough to limit heating to the mid-upper 80s at best today.

Gusty winds and a heavy downpour but it's not gonna hang out long enough to make a dent. At least I get a morning off from watering the drought stricken garden.

Stayed dry last night. Central IL wins again CAMs say we do it all over again tomorrow... Almost reminiscent of the times in January in which we watch Alberta clippers. I do think all the metro has a good chance of heavy downpours tonight.

Be interesting to see if anything develops this afternoon out to the west along the S flank of the MCV crossing into N MO. Some broken sunshine across central MO should destabilize things somewhat...but CINH behind this morning's complex may put a lid on things until tonight when the LLJ ramps up. SPC seems to think there's some severe potential along the 70 corridor today with a SLGT risk outlined there.

This little feeder band of showers is like a gift from heaven, lol
Hope the Metro and places to the south can get some beneficial rainfall over the next 24-36 hours...

Took the dog out. Sunny, not that hot, but humid. Cooler thick air. Doesn't feel right. Usually the cooler air is dry.

The soupy air is good fuel for storms later this evening though!
Mesoanalysis shows a favorable setup developing upstream with a pool of strong instability along and S of the retreating warm front near the MO river and an enhanced band of mid-level wind/bulk shear overlapping it. CINH is mostly gone out that way, so there should be development within the next several hours as the shortwave across N KS noses into that favorable environment. Seems like the severe threat is legit into this evening and overnight across Central/Eastern MO and possibly into the Metro.
