Might be talking about flash flooding next weekend if the gfs is right. Also has a hurricane off the FLA coast at the end of the run

Might be talking about flash flooding next weekend if the gfs is right. Yea, it has been honing in on that idea and only upped the ante with this morning’s runs. Trying to bust the drought all at once! Not a great look for my fellow deer hunters though.

Might be talking about flash flooding next weekend if the gfs is right. Been noticing a decent signal for a deep meridional flow developing later next week that could potentially pump a lot of moisture into the region.

Witnessed a pretty interesting phenomenon this morning while duck hunting in the river bottom...we were expecting an E/SE wind which is great for our blind but the wind blew out of the west off the river consistently all day. It's 180* different in Brighton. Goes to show how strong the river's influence is!

Arenado is staying a Cardinal until at least 2027 Pretty amazing he didn’t leverage the opt out for another year tacked onto the end of the deal or some other restructuring. I think it bodes well for fans hoping ownership adds another premier player.

12z euro bringing our first winter blast of cold down by the end of its run.
Actually, a pretty impressive airmass sagging across western Canada.
Now, can we get just a little energy and see our first snow showers? Probably not

Wow just passed by the back door and it was literally a blizzard of leaves falling. Visibility at best was 200 ft. We can only hope our snowflakes this year are the size of these leaves.😁😁 Seems like a little over 3 inches of rain in the last two storms and my pond looks like it as only come up that 3". I'm sure there had to be 'some' runoff going into the pond aside from the actual 3 inches of rain that fell but it sure doesn't look like it.

Here comes the sun! Enjoy this first day of Nov and this warm week! Hope to winterize the cabin but may have to wait on the boat as hubby has one more week of not lifting unless we decide to wait one more week but worry about power washing a boat when the warm is gone! Mid Nov is coming!

Happy Birthday, Chris!
We may need to watch the strong storm threat Saturday with that compact mid-level low moving in...that will be dependent on sufficient low-level moisture return but it looks like a pretty good squall line setup or maybe even a few discrete storms with enough instability realized. The wind field is ripping on models, so it may be a high shear/low CAPE setup favoring low-topped convection.
The large scale pattern is going to build a lot of cold air into Canada and the NW US towards next week with cross polar flow and a -WPO developing but the strong flow off the Pacific will tend to bottle that up for now. That may change towards mid-month as the pattern readjusts a bit...but overall the first half of November is looking quite mild.

Weird to have the colors peak so early and so many trees barren on Nov. 1. We were in Florida Wed-Sun and the difference between leaving and getting home was huge. I know, its more on par with historical averages, but its still doesn't feel right.

Going negative tilt as it rotates through the area.

Yea, heck of a system for sure this weekend. Good to see a proper mid latitude cyclone again!

The weekend system has definitely trended to a more consolidated and somewhat faster moving system. It definitely would have some severe potential... especially if we can get some more moisture transport to the north. That being said, the impressive dynamics may be enough to generate wind potential as the strong winds aloft get mixed down. Any system that is this dynamically intense needs to be watched in the warm sector... with or without significant mositure transport.
