Our best bet in the metro to see anything will be with that stuff out by Lebanon
Still plenty of instability and decent shear for the time of year out there

Looked pretty bubbly when it was backlit and to my east. It's now passed to the west. Good thing I watered

Some mesoscale cells fired up along I-44 and are moving ENE into the immediate STL metro. Most S of I-70 will see some heavy rain and high winds! Can't rule out some small hail!

What happened to the line that was going to come through around 1 am-ish? Now Futurecast and HRRR don't show it. Did these storms zap the atmosphere or was this going to be the main event?

Winds were fierce last night, took a chunk of my neighbors redbud down. .62 inches of quick rain and sounded like maybe some hail hitting the windows but can't confirm as I was half asleep lol.
Talked to neighbor this morning and his anamometer clocked 58 mph, mine was 53. So 50 to 60 mph gusts when it moved through.
Now we step back down into beautiful weather to mow lawns this weekend, as these ideal temps and rains are making my lawns grow like spring.

Nothingburger in Brighton last night. We did pick up another token tenth earlier in the day...just enough to keep the grass growing.

Long term it looks like we are going to dry out quite a bit. I'd bet on a solid heat wave the end of the month through first part of Sept. too unforunately. Mama nature has to balance out eventually.

Not much if any precip chances on the models for the next 7+ days. Looks like there could be some tropical development potential with a trof split that enters the N Gulf towards next weekend and rounds the upper ridge into the Central US...other than that, it looks like a very quiet period of weather coming up.

The immediate STL metro has seen a lot more rain than you. Hopefully you cash in eventually! 😊 Definitely...the SE half of Jersey Co. has been very dry overall since late spring of last year...seems microdrought-y. Even the town of Brighton has had quite a bit more rain than just a few miles north. Some of these stretches have been the driest I've seen it since 2012 at least. I've managed to grow a respectable garden this year with frequent watering but it's been a challenge keeping up with that at times since I use rain water from a catch and have to transport it. The 275 gallon barrel went dry once but it usually holds some.

Last night's AI EURO run shows no rainfall whatsoever the next 10 days...that tropical development in the Gulf has vanished and the ridge becomes anchored over us last next week deflecting all the weather well off to the north.
