Who else is looking forward to the fantastic autumn tease this weekend before we go back into the furnace for probably two weeks! This certainly will be a dry heat so at least the evenings and nights will be tolerable.

Yes, will definitely enjoy Fake Fall for the weekend but so not looking forward to the heat again..just over it..usually hits me like this every September want fall but doesn't happen...though we have been blessed last couple yrs late September and October were pretty decent. I'm hoping the same, I have an ulnar nerve surgery early in week so hopefully heal by mid October to enjoy some fall ⛳️ 🏌️♂️ fingers crossed. Honestly ready for tracking digital Snow..my season for the board!

Drought back up to D1 Metro area-wide. D0 (abnormally dry elsewhere) CPC has us under worsening rapid onset drought for the next 2 weeks. Period through Mid-October doesn't look promising for any meaningful rain with only brief transitory cool snaps that last a day or 2 before 1-2 weeks of heat and repeating. Gulf is shutdown for quite awhile.

Small line of showers developing south Hannibal to west of Columbia. It isn't much but we'll take anything we can get at this point. I'm guessing that's the cold front.

Baby shower at the house tomorrow afternoon. Low to mid-70s will be glorious. Swingset Davis can stay dry through tomorrow, then get back to work.

Went to Clearwater Lake yesterday. Was heading south on 67 and noticed ALOT of brown(dead) trees on each side of the highway on our way down. Just south of Cherokee Pass I noticed some ominous clouds to our SW. I told my wife, "looks like rain over Piedmont." That was one of my luckiest guesses. Poured on us just before coming into Piedmont. Had the boat on the lake by 10. Sky looked rainy/drizzly just to the south. Told the grandkids, "We'll head over to our usual spot past Webb Creek, the sun should be out there. Another lucky guess😁. We just stopped in the sun and floated while we ate. Dead calm, no breeze, just beautiful. That lasted about 45 minutes before the very windy conditions picked up for the rest of the day. We were ready to head in by 6pm.😊 Always an adventure trailering a pontoon (AKA A Kite) in windy conditions.🤪🤪🤪

70/43 at 130pm. A nice breeze. Could not be any better. Top 1 day. Not 10, 1.

Wind decided it didn’t like it there. Took down a 10x30 canopy this afternoon. It’s nice enough that people don’t need shade.

If September's forecast is correct, tonight's low of 48 in the city and mid 40s in the burbs would push that lowest temp of 47*F for the month. This might be the coolest of the month unless something hits near the end. System coming out of the gulf is also our best shot of some precip in a while also foresaw in the forecast, just at the middle of the month rather then the ends. Looks like the up coming weekend is the best hope of rain the next 10-14 days.

Had the windows open all day and got chilled sitting in the shaded part of the house. Makes working more interesting when it sounds like kids are being murdered outside.

40 was my bottom this morning. To see widespread 30s and 40s a week after summer ended is impressive. I would not be surprised if someone saw some frost in sheltered areas as I saw 36 in mexico. I don't really remember a night this cool this early in several years.
I know the drought has a big influence on the temps as they drop like a rock with the dry air.

Big diurnal swings this week. 50s In the mornings and we'll into the 80s to near 90 in the afternoons. Low humidity. Maybe the gulf low will give some later. Maybe. Maybe.

what was the low for Lambert Airport? Clearly the chill overperformed with clear skies and calm winds with lots of low/mid 40s and upper 30s in a few spots. Also models still looking good for what should be our next named storm in the gulf by midweek.

48 was the low at KSTL.
Maybe Francine will bring us rain. Odds aren't great right now. The NWS is giving us only a 20% chance.
Once again ECMWF's AI sniffed out the tropical development before the operational model.

Glad to see some other 39s. Davis said 38, but areas around me were in the low 40s. It’s a relatively new unit, so I’ve never questioned the temp readings until last night. Definitely some cooler pockets around.

Model trends getting very concerning for Louisiana.
This looks like a rapid intensification into landfall situation.
Definitely a chance it becomes a major hurricane at landfall.
Quick mover though, so should limit some impacts.
Could bring STL a bunch of rain if you believe the 12z Euro
