Congratulations, Chris! And if I may toot my own horn, our first grandbaby came into this world last Thursday. As amazing as it was to witness a total eclipse and two rounds of auroras this year, it doesn't even compare to holding that little guy in my arms and having him look up and smile...even if it is gas. That is amazing! CONGRATS! What a treasure!

Congratulations to Chris on adding another Emmy to his shelf! Thanks Reb and all! I have a lot of folks to thank for that! Nobody wins an award like that without a lot of support. The 12z EPS had one member with some flakes late in the run. Not that I was looking 😁

I remember saying earlier that I could put up with 80 if it got close to the 50s at night.
Last night wasn't close.

I remember saying earlier that I could put up with 80 if it got close to the 50s at night. Last night wasn't close. Our upper floor bedrooms finally needed the A/C back on for sleeping last night. Not fun for October 28th.

I walked into the house after getting home yesterday evening about 6:30. It felt like an oven my wife was scanning some stuff. Not wanting to turn the AC on since it was pretty nice outside, 73 I believe at the time I flipped the attic fan on. It dropped down to 76 in a very short amount of time but stayed there for awhile. Slept well with cross breeze from open windows. Temp outside down to 66 this morning and the house is a very comfortable 72.

I’ll never understand people basing their clothing and heating/cooling decisions on the calendar instead of the weather.
If it is 85 in December or January the AC is going on and shorts are fair game.
If it’s 45 in late May, the heat is going on.

Not turning the ac on just for a couple days in the 80s. Opened windows and have a nice breeze going through. It will be muggy in my house when i close the windows ahead of the storms, but ill deal with it.

In past years I could get away with not turning the AC back on with temperatures like this because it still cooled off nicely at night but not the past few days.

I was mowing over leaves this morning for the 2nd of probably about 20 times before winter hits and had a thick layer of dust/dirt on me when I was done. We definitely could use the rain on its way.

A 71 low temperature at the end of October is obscene. Welcome to very strong historic warm air advection for Oct! 70* at KSUS yesterday for the low in the morning with all the SSW wind and mixing. Thus, the urban heat island effect wasn't effecting the low temperatures yesterday morning. I think what is also impressive is it reached 90* today in 1950!
