My surgery was successful. I was told by beforehand to expect to stay overnight. But everything went so well I'm back home, which is much preferred. But driving back home at about 11 AM I was surprised/angered by the large number of nitwits driving down the highway in the pouring rain with no lights on. I wish had the authority to give them all very expensive tickets. I hope you heal quickly guy

Arnold MO off Telegraph Emptied at 10pm last night with 5.5”. 8am this morning emptied 6.5” more. Rain gauge is in open ground of front yard. Has anyone else had 12”? tedrick in High Ridge posted 12.25 around 8am. Probably a little more with today's showers.

And I'm finishing off last night and today's rain was an additional 1/4" for 5-1/4", again just for last night and today. Pretty sure we were pushing five to six Sunday Monday's rain but I'm just basing that off of the area around me that have posted. Definitely a widespread distribution of heavy rain. It's going to sound so nice when we can say that with snow this winter.🤞🤞😁

This has really been a sneaky flood in terms of severity for many folks especially across the ozarks. There are some areas (Akers Ferry) on the upper Current River that have exceeded the flooding levels from 2017 which I never thought I’d see.
Looking at NWS total maps still not understanding why totals are so underreported.

Yeah, I really wasn't expecting the magnitude of main stem flooding across the region...once the round on Monday shifted the effective boundary further SE we were in trouble. Chris sniffed that potential out like a hound dog. A lot of models were too far NW with the axis of heaviest rainfall until the CAMs caught onto the mesoscale processes.

5.7" since midnight. 12.25" since 8pm Sunday in High Ridge. Radar only has me at about 8" total. At least Eastward movement has started and it looks like the lift is starting to die out some. Wound up with 6.11" since midnight and 12.77" total. I'm clearly in the heaviest total accumulation band on Radarscope and it was just shy of 10". The Gravois Creek, Deer Creek and Black Creek flooding was pretty intense and may have exceeded Ike in 2008

The Meramec River in Steelville crested at 28.2 ft. That is just shy of the record of 28.7 ft. Major flooding is expected along most of the river, but the current forecasts are for it to stay well below record levels at most of the sites.

Rafael still looking pretty stout. Western terrain of Cuba probably won't be much of an issue.

Looks like Rafael will end up slowly drifting westward in the GOM with no real threat to the US.
There’s a system around the 13th I’ve had my eyes on for a few days that may bring some severe weather to the area.
Worth keeping an eye on that timeframe.

That does look like a favorable trof ejection for a significant episode of severe wx across the central US.

Pretty quiet for a pretty impactful flood event.
Montauk State Park got obliterated in the flooding. Gonna be a long recovery in some of those valleys
