Ended up with 4.25” 7 miles Sw of Perryville, Mo. The lakes we live by went from very low to over flowing in less than a week.

Oct is looking zonal or ridgy toasty unless we get more tropical remnants again!

Oct is looking zonal or ridgy toasty unless we get more tropical remnants again! It's looking pretty warm later next week with a return flow developing but overall the pattern looks fairly blocky with mean trofs near Hudson Bay and AK which should favor NW flow overall. Definitely nothing too anomalous for this time of year and mostly dry.

Had a pretty decent shower just moved through 7 miles west of DeSoto and looking at the radar, that's about all it hit.🤪🤪 it didn't last very long but it soaked everything.👍👍 it has all night to soak in with very little evaporation. The house was 79*, after about 15-20 minutes of the attic fan it's dropped it down to a perfect 74*.

I just talked to my brother in upstate South Carolina ( about 30-40 miles south of Asheville )they still have no power … roads are still blocked and some washed away …. The county he lives in has 198, 400 electric customers 198 200 have no power …. He says it’s like a 3rd world country…. Spotty cell service, only 1 gas station is open within 30 miles and it has lines 2 -4 hours long …… I don’t think the media is getting enough of this story out of just how bad it is down there …. Say a prayer for all of these poor people

Some of the initial reports claim large portions of the town are gone, completely destroyed by flooding and landslides.

It’s the only way to get home … we are sending supplies back with them …. At least my brother has a generator

Though, it looks like we will have mostly above average temperatures each day. So a warmer than normal first half ish of Oct! Multiple ways to always look at it. Perspective.

It’s way worse than what’s nationally being reported. I’ll keep it at that.

Latest report is now 102 fatalities and that seems to be climbing fast unfortunately. Early damage estimates are all of the place with Moody's reporting as low as $15 billion while !AccuNotWx! reporting as high as $110 billion.
In any case I agree the reporting does not seem proportional to the magnitude of the disaster. Maybe partially because it's so hard to get to the most devastated areas.

Unfortunately my heart is sinking on this storm. I would not be suprised to see this being the most costly storm in U.S. history when it is all said and done unfortunately.

looks like even our upcoming warm days at the end of the week never see dew points get out of the 50's, so at least its a nice dry easy-to-take warm up.

John Mozeliak is out at the end of the 2025 season. Chaim Broom (who I will be the first to admit that I've never heard of) will be his successor.

The cardinals end of season presser was the equivalent of a 33° cold rain.
Biggest piece of gas lighting ever.
Maybe I’ll go to a game in 2026.

I guess Girsch is still assigned to coffee and dry cleaning duties?

Extremely frustrating and quite honestly rude, arrogant, and disrespectful to a loyal fan base who spends their hard earned dollars on their product which as of late has made me realize I really don’t HAVE to have baseball in my life! And I’m a die hard. The attendance numbers and public sentiment tells me I’m not alone.

Maybe by the time we get to 2026 the MLB will have worked out a sustainable deal for an in-market streaming service or package addon for various existing services. We're currently with YTTV because of NFL Sunday Ticket and I really don't want to have to switch back and forth between DirecTV for the Cardinals especially if it's going to be the same old grind in 2025. Anyway, all of these exclusive deals are running it for consumers in terms of sports.

Just read on Facebook that David Koeller is leaving WOWL-TV in Omaha after 6 years. For long time MTW members you may (or may not) remember he helped set up this forum when he was an intern at KTVI and when he left to start his career. He said his future plans aren't clear at this point.

Looking ahead I see zero chance for rain through mid October. Could this be September all over again?

Attendance is going to probably be about as bad as I have seen it in my lifetime. Maybe some of the years in the early to mid-90's before LaRussa got there were worse but I don't remember.

So speaking of the TV home for Cardinals. Apparently late breaking news is that Bally's (Diamond) is dropping Cardinals broadcast. I guess broadcast rights go back to Cardinals to do whatever they want. Maybe a $20-30/month add on to existing or new streaming platform? Or renew with Bally's again anyway? Presumably whatever form that takes will be way less revenue than the $70 or so million per year they were getting. Which means more payroll slashing and more mediocrity? Or maybe the Cardinals had already assumed as much anyway? Overall, not a great situation having all STL professional sports teams on separate TV providers either.
