I have been using Flash until just recently. Trying to use what the NWS changed to and it seems so slow and clunky. I will assume at this point there is something that I am/am not doing right. Hard to imagine the NWS would change to something this clunky and user unfriendly. I can't even find the toggle to speed up the radar. It says Station Latency 2 minutes?? I agree. The replacement is pretty clunky.

Christmas vacation has arrivwd! No TV for me for a week. Sleeping in and being a bum. No shaving...no stress. I need this break lol. And then there is the euro... It is definitely an interesting look. I will be honest.. this patterns feels more like a rain to cold setup...with some light snow or flurries behind the front. But, we'll see. I can't rule out a Euro-esque outcome. Quite a change from when you were low man and had to work all the holidays. Though I do miss the "weather from my kitchen with the family" segments. Those were always kinda' fun. Enjoy the time off!!

There was a narrow path storm like that in the late 70s. I was living in Jennings at the time and going to college at Parks in Cahokia. The house got 14“ of snow overnight and Jennings School District closed . But I dug out my car and got going. When I got to I-70 there were only a few inches and only an inch or so in Cahokia.

Philly hasn’t had an inch of snow since March 2019 and it’s looking increasingly likely they get the shaft with this nor Easter. Tough pill to swallow KTVI showed a live stream from there at 5 PM. Looks like the string is broken. They already have an inch.

I hope I bring this snow and cold back with me!!! Alaska is the neatest place ever!!! From Anchorage To Kenia to Homer to Seward to Fairbanks to Coldfoot to north of Wiseman there is so much incredible stuff to look at and learn about ( the Alaskan pipeline and dalton highway were such an unimaginable feat) all you snow lovers try your hardest to make a trip up here to the article circle in the winter you will not regret it! Call Coldfoot camp to book adventure It's probably too late to mention it now but if you have a few hours to fill before you leave Whitaker is an interesting town to visit. Road access is through a railroad tunnel that trains still use. Most of the town lives in a high rise that was originally built by the army in WWII. Also in the building is the police department, a grocery store and much of the school.

I'll be in Anchorage Fairbanks and Coldfoot the next week I hope to get to see the Aurora borealis on at least one occasion!!! We arrived to single digit temperatures and snow it warmed up to above freezing started raining change back to snow and there has been well over a foot probably closer to 18 inches today and there is more coming ❄️ You'll see plenty of snow (and cold) by the time you get to Fairbanks. I follow a family on You Tube that live in North Pole, just southeast of Fairbanks. It's been consistently zero or below for weeks with more than a foot of snow on the ground since Halloween. They also get precious few hours of daylight and it's dark by 3 pm

Anyone know anything about the northern lights possibly being seen from MO tonight? Missouri storm chasers say it's conditional. Bridget Mahoney posted this map to Facebook.

84 hour euro. Six different lobes of energy over the country Wouldn't that split up the available energy so that none of those lows has the possibility of getting very strong?

Here is the updated yearly snowfall graph for St. Louis. The 30yr moving average has dropped to 16.9". Are those accumulations January 1 to December 31? Or are they for winter seasons?

I'm thinking back to the brutal late 70s winters. IIRC they are what spawned the concept of El Nino. When was the last time we had a couple of strong El Nino winters in a row?

Got some good snow cover built up in Alberta and Saskatchewan and into Montana after a Sunday/Monday snowstorm/blizzard. Watching videos looked to be substantially more than a foot deep. Should provide some structural support for cold air if we start getting some Alberta clippers.

We now have Theta in the Atlantic. The path almost looks like the opposite of tropical systems during the Cape Verde season. Heading towards the mouth of the Mediterranean.

Hope there is nothing significant going on in the UMW during that time frame. We have to drive to South Dakota to move my son home from college for Christmas break. He has to move everything out so the university can do a "deep cleaning" due to covid. Then move back in early January. SMH! You'd still have to move it out but would it make sense to put the stuff in a storage locker there over the Christmas break rather than bring it all the way home?

Wichita also got some pretty significant ice overnight. I won't post them but if you search "Wichita ice storm" and "Oklahoma City ice storm" there's plenty of tree damage and many vehicle accidents
