WorldSeries, you live in Chicago now and you can't find a better blog up there in the big and "better" Windy City than Chris' STL blog? I think maybe a bill for at least $20/month should cover it, yes? Unless we start seeing trends swing in your favor of course. That way we can have some money in the jar for that lucky jackpot winner (for whatever that might be) with the money collected. It becomes $40/month if you decide to fair weather us here and become a cubbies fan too!

Had to cancel an Open House last weekend to be postponed for this weekend. I was thinking we could squeeze it in Saturday morning but that's looking like a less likely option as well. Snow doesn't slow everyone down but significant ice will bring the city to a screeching halt. I'm hoping the onset occurs later than currently predicted but that might be wishful thinking.

Anything dropping here lately are flakes. Even the light stuff.

Observed snowfall at 9pm We have 7" But compaction city now. I don't care tho. Love it. The short term models really go ham but are warm near the surface. They are notoriously Warn duirnally. We'll see. That yellow that gave you a good inch+ seems to be about right with what you have there and me, your 7 to my 5.7ish. Crazy what those little bursts do to the totals.

Hard to measure with accuracy given the wind and drifting. Difficult to get an accurate measure even given the different areas of my surrounding home. All have one spot on the lower end and the other much higher. Taking the mean with many different measurements, Iâm at 5.7 in Florissant

We are in for one helluva night by the looks of it! How close are we, given the latest models, predictions and the overall eye test thus far, could we potentially be looking at putting 1982 to rest?

It is nice but now i wish i had land. Been in the area since 91 in tc since 95 Tc is ofallons jurisdiction but i call it dardenne to clarify geographically. And being on my PC now vs phone, I am making the connection beaker - Dardenne Prarie, MO is "Dardenne". Wow do I feel like an idiot lol. It is a very big neighborhood nonetheless

How many folks on this board live in Twin Chimneys? Iâm moving to that subdivision in February off Little Oaks. Im not sure how many from this board live in tc. Some nws personnel live in dardenne but i dont think they live in tc. Little Oaks is nice. I live in The Cedars. Welcome to the neighborhood. Thanks! Iâm pretty sure Dardenne mentioned living in that neighborhood as well. Only reason I asked. Weâre excited to say goodbye to Lindbergh and hello to K. Have been out there multiple times and different times of the day/time and itâs by far better than Lindbergh where I live. Itâs a nightmare.

I measured on several diff surfaces including trampoline, ground, concrete, patio table. How many folks on this board live in Twin Chimneys? Iâm moving to that subdivision in February off Little Oaks.

Well ive got to complain a lil bit about everyone saying this was a 3-6â or 4-8â storm until the last minute and then upping it to 12â. Employers didnt take this seriously and held workers too late and now there are tons of people who are stuck out on the roads who will end up spending the night in their cars. This is absolutely a historic storm and for the companies who didnt take this seriously, good riddance. Sorry, but those amounts are enough to send people home anyway...especially when everyone said rush hour was going to be a mess. Shame on them. I was off today, but our guys quit at 1:30. We can make the time up later in the month if we need to. Agree 100%. Shame on employers for forcing their employees to stay for an extra buck instead of looking out for their safety. What people forget that are ignorant about weather, especially winter weather, is how much 6â of snow does when it happens in the middle of winter. You donât wait until the forecast is a foot. 6â is a ton of snow and enough for employers to take very seriously.

I could be wrong, but it does seem the yellow on the composite is representing sleet. We were getting a good round of 50/50 sleet snow it was during that time that the yellow was right over me. Now in the dark green, all snow. In Fairview heights the yellow was huge flakes. If snow growth was like that we would get 2 feet I guess maybe it was bad timing when the yellow was over us. Guessing maybe 1 degree off and we would have gotten those fat flakes as well. More to come though!

Since this has been compared to the 2002 (I think) December storm, I found an archive from Springfield showing totals. Any semblance? I really have no clue since I wasn't in STL at the time of this storm. I was a senior in high school in Atlanta, GA at that time. A city where a snow flake will shut down the city.

We need more big storms to get this board hopping! I've seen some names pop up that I haven't seen in a while and/or are New! I hope this is the start of a trend for the rest of the winter. There are a few though that I'm sure a lot of you remember that... cluttered the thread a bit. I'll name one that should spark some memories. The famous mwitt97.

Chris, here's a good line to use next time someone trolls you like that on FB again. "I did not achieve this position in life by having some snot-nosed punk leave my cheese out in the wind.". that might get me fired Hopefully my post earlier wasnât interpreted in any negative way. Just stating the obvious difference between two different platforms, Facebook and your forum đ

So... here you go... Chris, Your earlier post on Facebook that was about as impartial as it gets regarding the government partial shutdown and how it pertains to the upcoming storm system just goes to show you how negative social media has gotten. I swear, social media has some good in it however I must say without being overly pessimistic, itâs turned into a world of hatred, negativity and bias even on the most unbiased of topics. A person like you with lots of followers must make you question whether or not to just remove yourself. Your post was an attempt to publish a very relevant piece as it related to our upcoming weather event and because it indirectly connects to a qualm with our U.S government and border security, a peaceful post turns into brawl in the discussion thread. Whatever happened to the phrase our government was founded on, âpeace and tranquilityâ. Ok, thatâs my vent of the day. Carry on with what we on this forum stick with no matter what, the topic at hand, weather! đ
