We had about 50-=60 kids. Our neighborhood grew up, but there are new ones in the area. However with it being so cold, it was more middle schoolers than itty bitties. My first kid was an almost frozen four year old. I filled her bucket with handfuls knowing that she might last another house but not much more than that. It was crazy passing out candy while seeing my breath.

We lost in the regional finals (volleyball) last night, so tears were the only things passed out at our house. Eight straight years of HS volleyball comes to an end. Next up--basketball.

According to daily climate summary... the high was 36 in St Louis yesterday. Impressive in October with no snow cover. I believe I heard the old record was set in 1954. 1954 had a pretty bad drought going on IIRC. If that was the case then, did the 'extra' dry air from the drought help to establish that record??? And the fact that we had so much moisture around/in the ground, for this cold airmass, do you think we could have gotten colder if it was dryer? And, thankfully 1954 is not an analog year, I believe that was horrible snowise

The Ban Hammer might come down on me but the older I get, the more I like boat/jetski weather.

11/11/11. Record high and low were set. Storms rain xhanged to sleet and snow. The whole midwest was very warm, then very cold. I think a bunch of tornadoes occurred as well. That would be a sight to see.

Northern stream needs to come down a bit steeper to be able to pick up that ejecting wave.

Yesterday morning was rather nippy. The frost was so heavy that you'd swear it had snowed. Surprisingly the deer werent moving either.

The deer aren't moving today either. I couldn't hear them through the wind anyway.
