It was back in June when I announced that I was done with 2020, and ready to declare it was 2021. Almost ready to call for 2022. Well stop because the tropics are making up for your time skips

Wouldn’t be surprised if the eastern counties get into the upper 30s tonight

Two nights back to back of low temps of 43-44. These colder mornings and sunny dry days will soon make the trees pop with color!

Seems like the trees used to peak around the third week of October, but has moved more to around the first week in november recently.

I have seen it mentioned on various blogs that TS Beta ties the 1916 record of tropical system "strikes" in the U.S. Just using 1916 as an analog I looked up the seasonal snowfall numbers since 1900. Knowing that 1911-1912 was a blockbuster year I came up with 1915-1916 having 31" of snow. Not our year though. 1916-1917 had what looks like 7". Book it. BTW....this weather has been amazing minus the smoke. Anyone else have the nagging scratchy throat and sniffles? Seems to just linger on. I attributed it to the smoke.

Mold count is surprisingly high considering how little rain we've had for the last month or so.

I'm leaving to go north, north tomorrow. Off to help a cousin with my elderly aunt. By Friday night, I'll be in far northern WI. If it's worth it, I'll post some snaps of the progression when I get back.
As to allergies, between the smoke/ragweed/mold, everyone check their filters if they have central A/C. I find that I have to change them in the fall as frequently as the blooming spring. I just sent my mother in CA a room air filter. The smoke has been so bad in the Bay Area that she hasn't been able to leave her house. It's better now, but still there.

Been chilly working from the outdoor home studio this morning (the deck). Shorts may not have been a good wardrobe choice today. But it is warming up a bit now...thank goodness.
