Someone will get over a foot of rain this week. Might happen by the end of today in the western burbs, and 6-10 into St. Clair County, IL

Here’s what I found:
7.4 for daily record? We may shatter that.
Wettest Julys on record:
12.69 in 1948 10.81 in 1981 9.5 in 1875 8.87 in 2016 7.9 1982 7.7 2021

I mean, we are potentially in the most historic rainfall in the history of St. Louis.

My vantage vue says 7.49” and it’s still raining. . Not good I'm glad you could confirm. That's crazy. I left home for work at 6am roughly and was a little over 6". It's raining moderate to at times heavy. Now more heavy rain returns on radar moving in. The Metrolink can't go beyond 5th and Missouri. The tracks are underwater after 5th and Missouri.

Did they JUST issue the FF Emergency, or is my phone just late getting it?

I’ve seen no less than 25 cars stranded on my way in. I’m an hour and a half into the drive, and just got into MO. IL15 was shut down, 70 is shut down, at least EB, and maybe now WB, too.

I mean, we are potentially in the most historic rainfall in the history of St. Louis. I know I had 12” or more a few Septembers ago on a single day.

One of best friends that lives in St.Charles just messaged me. His apartment is completely flooded. He struggles to make ends meet as it is and he just lost almost everything he owns.

I see where we are breaking records, but the previous ones, have they been in this short of time period or was that more an all day-post tropical soak?

I see where we are breaking records, but the previous ones, have they been in this short of time period or was that more an all day-post tropical soak? I’m pretty sure airport number is 7.5 for a single day. Not sure what 24 hour would be. And there’s no way airport has ever received 8” in 8 hours. Sad what’s happening to peoples apartments, cars, etc. very dangerous situation. Historic weather events are incredible to watch unfold but with that always comes destruction to someone majority of the time.

Heard the thunder around 5 am. Checked the weather station just now, and already have had 2.77 inches. I posted before I read the thread. This is nuts.
