I see the 24 hr total, but is that also the storm total so far? I thought i read a higher amount somewhere but cant find it now. Of course i expect the storm total to go up quite a bit this evening with those crazy pw values.

A little over 4 " here for a storm total with light rain still falling. I've had over 10 inches of rain total in the last 2 weeks and to think several of you had that in 8 hrs or less! It's unreal the amount of rain that fell in the tight WNW-ESE axis this morning. My heart goes out to all of the flash flood victims that have any damage to property and/or loved ones caught in such an unprecedented event. Let's hope tonight's heavy rain axis is displaced a bit further NE this time around as models seem to hint at.

So if this would have been snow how much? It couldn't happen. There would never be enough moisture around in the cold air to cause 100 inches of snow to fall in 9 hours lol. Not here anyway. Ok so what if u kept everything the same but the surface layer to 1200’ or so was 22 degrees. So it all was freezing rain. Would this be possible?

A few hours of sun has made it rather uncomfortable. 93 degrees and rather humid.

I went ahead and made a discord server for the Corner. The invite link below expires in a week. Discord is completely free to use so if you don’t have an account you can make one for free. discord.gg/p5HBDY5tJust thought I’d try it out for awhile and see if it gains any traction. Might not be a bad place to have as a backup or place to jump in and discuss model data as it rolls out.

Just hopping in to hope that everyone is okay, and to ask when did it become okay to crap on things that experts post about a particular topic. I almost can’t read comments on Chris’ posts on FB anymore.

My sump pump decided it had enough this morning and died. My MIL lives in our basement so 2/3 is finished. We caught the issue quickly and was able to get a spare utility pump going and use wet vacs and push brooms to move water faster to the floor drains. Got Serve Pro coming this evening with dehumidifiers. Some trim damage, kick plates in kitchen swelled a little and damage to a few IKEA shelves. Soaked a big area rug and carpet at bottom of stairs is toast. Water was crystal clear so no staining. Hopefully we can get it dried out and prevent mold behind the drywall.

Looks like another Slight Risk for heavy rains and flash flooding tonight mainly for the metro and points east, so overall it looks like the threat area will be just a tad east of last nights/this morning's and overall as previously mentioned less extreme but I wouldn't rule out 2-4" amounts with a few spots of 5", but not the 6-10" with spots of a foot plus we had earlier. Also looks like it takes a couple extra hours to get going more like 2-3AM then the midnight start we had last night.

Prayers to the family who lost a loved one and everyone who suffered damages. I ended with .20" 7 miles west of De Soto. We had a few decent showers mid morning to add to the .188".

That mass back between KC and Columbia is concerning.

That mass back between KC and Columbia is concerning. It appears to be drifting a little south of yesterday's event. Southerners (south of MO River) may get some much needed rain.

This morning's event doesn't seem nearly as intense as Tuesday. And I see some southeast drift to the line. Agree with Chris - hopefully the people who got missed yesterday will get a good soaking.

I woke up to dry concrete on the driveway. Radar does not look promising with the next wave. Looks just north.

11.95" at the airport for July. The previous record is 12.65". What a phenomenal change of pace...there's a decent chance that the record gets broken over the next 36 hours.
Southerns look to get some beneficial rainfall tomorrow...hang in there!
