Another 2.5" in the rain gauge this morning. 2 day total right at 5" in Arnold. I only got 1.45” yesterday and .20” this morning in my rain gauge. Maybe I should make sure there’s not a leak in mine.

11.95" at the airport for July. The previous record is 12.65". What a phenomenal change of pace...there's a decent chance that the record gets broken over the next 36 hours.
Southerns look to get some beneficial rainfall tomorrow...hang in there!
I have had nothing today and looking at the WPC map, that 1.54" looks great....but, if I take off some qpf off the northern edge, like we do for snowfall totals, it seems like I will be very close to getting bypassed again. I look forward to another accurate forecast from you.

That's why it's me I got off work last night and got home around 8:00 p.m. you would have never known that almost 10 inches of rain fell earlier that day. It's crazy how it disappeared just like that last night there wasn't even puddles left.

It's crazy how it disappeared just like that last night there wasn't even puddles left. You can tell it's been dry, the ground sucked up all the water that didn't run off like a sponge. If we would have gotten that amount during the spring it would have been way worse as far as flooding.

Another 2.25 inches from yesterday and overnight according to the Davis on the roof in North St. Pete. Just over 13“ in two days. Wow!
Chris's report at noon answered my question about what's all this rain going to do to the big rivers? The answer is very little.

May need to keep an eye on the severe potential tomorrow...models are showing 2000j/kg+ CAPE with bulk shear around 30-40kts along/behind the surface boundary with some overlap near the Metro. That may be a conditional threat with cloud cover though...degree of destabilization is questionable.

That may be a conditional threat with cloud cover though...degree of destabilization is questionable. NAM shows some severe potential tomorrow, especially across the southern half of the area. Hodogrpahs are pretty straight, but could see some severe winds with the amount of DCAPE portrayed.

Still getting missed. Does anyone know of a storm total radar that you can key in however many days in a row you want to look at?

Strong heating occurring with the sunshine this morning...should be enough destabilization for strong/severe storms later today. Surprised the SPC is so far south with their outlook...the southern half of the CWA at least is looking to be under the gun today. The biggest limiting factor is weak lapse rates aloft. But models still show ~2500j/kg CAPE developing.

I thought I kept hearing big trucks 'thunderin' by on the highway...a quick check of radar shows otherwise. Building storms just to my west. Fingers crossed 7 miles west of De Soto.
Edit: Rats, after 30-40 drops of rain the storm was more to my south than my west. Maybe next one.
