The ‘ol STL split. Looks like the line might ramp up here shortly for the southerners.

Probably 50 mph wind gust with the Leading Edge pouring right now just made it home before it started raining and the sky looked eerie color of green 7 miles west of DeSoto.

Outside looks much more impressive than the radar. Thundering and some greenage.

CAMs looks pretty active around here tonight once the LLJ kicks in.

CAMs looks pretty active around here tonight once the LLJ kicks in. Yeah, hope so for verification sake, because up stream is weakening as it approaches, but later evening into Midnight towards dawn was the bigger period for heavy rain and flood potential if anything else.

I was getting back on to make sure mine had sent we had lost power right when I hit the send button. Power came back on about 5 minutes ago. Check the rain gauge we got one inch of rain in that gully washer 7 miles west of DeSoto. It would be a really good light show with just it being a little bit darker. The spider lightning I like to call it.

Back building in the O'Fallon IL area. Seems to be backbuilding over the entire Metro area. Looks like this is one of those pop up overhead kind of events...

Cold pooling behind this initial line of storms should help with lift once the LLJ ramps up. Returns are starting to increase a bit upstream.

There you go BRTN- along the back edge of the cold pool That was the heaviest rain so far today...but it didn't hang out long. Hopefully more to come.

That Meso Disco sounds ominous. After the storms moved through here the lightning/thunder hung on for a long time. As I watched the radar fill back in to my NW I thought I was going to get a good soaking rain. It has been raining for an hour and the concrete driveway is still only 'patchy' wet. Really weird.

Wow, that line of storms to my west sure have taken on a NE track from what originally looked to be east/southeast. I might get the split here with this round. We shall see.

Looks like flood watch was cancelled fir the metro. Not sure why? Judging by radar, the threat for flash flooding appears to be setting up S and W of the Metro. This isn't looking like the widespread 2-4" event that models were showing.

Effingham has to be closing in on 20” of rain this week. I’d love to see a legit total from there. Unreal.
