Cardinals will win this division by 7 games. Still cant believe the brewers traded away the best closer in mlb. Did us a huge favor.

May be looking at yet another heavy rainfall setup early next week with models showing a stalled/wavy boundary near the area and shortwaves rippling along it. What are the odds that this pattern remains in winter and we are able to say... "Maybe looking at yet another heavy SNOWFALL setup early next week with models showing us stalled wavy boundary near the area and short waves Rippling along it." 🤔🤔🤔🤔 Approximately zero, lol

pretty typical of "ring of fire" patterns - feast or famine. With the next 10 days projected to be below normal in rainfall centered on the mid ms valley into the ohio valley. I think I saw somewhere that Lambert airport had 15 inches of rain in a 2 week period. That has got to be one of the wettest 2 week periods for the record books. That number is also pretty representative of the I70 corridor, but I'm guessing the number drops off as you move southwest along the 44 corridor.

Any predictions if next week thru the weekend stay in the 80s?

Any predictions if next week thru the weekend stay in the 80s? I'd say we'll be pushing 90 by next weekend with models showing a return flow developing and the ridge trying to nose back in. But overall, next week looks pretty decent temperature wise. And potentially active in the Mon-Wed timeframe as that front oozes through. We should finally get a reprieve from the humidity later in the week as a backdoor front and drier airmass moves in. Today makes the sixth straight day of dewpoints above 75* IMBY with several above 80*...it's getting old! Summer is starting to slowly loose it's grip.

Yay, for summer losing it's grip. I know that I have a low heat/humidity tolerance, but officially, I'm over it and just waiting for relief.

Does anyone have a black walnut tree in their yard; and if so is it already dropping nuts? Seems to be early and I’m trying to figure if something is wrong or if it’s a weather cycle thing.

Amazingly quiet in here.....not even any complaining.... I had a flat on NB55 at 141 yesterday. Must have hit something because the tires are only 3 yrs old and only 6,000 miles on them. I ended up limping to Meramec Bottom Rd. to the QT parking lot. Not wanting to use/make claim for road service and the trailer towing family member is camping this weekend I proceeded to change the tire (thankfully the 30 year old spare hadn't rotted through). A big thank you to the QT employees and manager for helping me find some wood pieces for the jack and letting me take 'cool down' breaks. After breaking the bolt holding the spare on everything went 'fairly' easily. Needless to say I was a drenched senior when finished but still feel totally blessed to still be able to do the 'hard stuff' when needed. Missed the retirement party but made it back home safely. BTW.....when is the cool down coming?

Seems like models have backed off on the heavy rain potential early week...the LLJ is almost non-existent so it'll probably be more of a pulse thunderstorm setup vs. training storms. After that, a pretty textbook looking ring of fire setup develops towards next weekend. Pretty active week shaping up overall.

High CAPEs, little CIN with moderate Low Level Lapse Rates with decent downdraft capes and lift for storms today. 3KM NAM was all over it this afternoon around the metro area. Already seeing some cumulus clouds forming. If we can get any kind of focusing mechanism, things could still be active this afternoon. Work week storm chances never really interested me much, but where the ridge sets up later this week/end into next week could put us in the MCS train.

I saw nothing from them this weekend that correlated with their record. It seems like if you can keep Aaron Judge from going crazy, they are pretty average

Not taking anything away from the Cardinals because that was an awesome series.

Looks like some convergence could be setting up along I-44/I-70 today which could present a localized flash flooding threat late this afternoon into this evening which could include parts of the metro area. Storms won't move fast, but some mergers and slow training or at least storms popping and sitting along this zone and not moving much. Could be some that get several inches, and some that get hardly a drop or none at all. In other words the usual for St. Louis.

The Cards ..like it or not, seems to have made 2 good moves with the pitchers they got. Both had very good starts. Much needed

Models really backed off on the heat potential next weekend with the ridge getting beat down by the shortwaves/MCVs traversing it. Hopefully we've seen the last of the intense heat...
