Here is comes? SGF, MO radar lighting up from southwest to northeast. Looks like the midnight to 5AM timing looks solid. Guess we'll see if this continues to fill in/intensify as it draws closer.

Hard to believe there is snow in the works tonight, crazy. My AC was on a little over 24hrs ago. Only in STL do you go from sleeveless shirts to your heaviest winter coat in a 2 day time-span... Granted it's not what you see everyday! |

Looking at radar trends it seems like the band will set up, whatever actually falls from Salem, MO to Belleville/O'Fallon, IL and just to the south. Looks like another enhanced area from the bootheel to the southern tip of Illinois, but more of a mix/rain thing there ending as light snow.

The nam is putting out serious lift in response to powerful vorticity lifting NE through Southern Missouri and SW Illinois.  Sounding for Belleville at 3AM would be heavy snow.  Will it happen?? Wait a few more hours and the answer will reveal itself. |

A solid dusting to 2" should cover that area nicely as far as expected amounts. Would be shocked to see anything higher then that, unless it just goes crazy on top of us/act of god kinda of thing...  |

Wow, I have 2.25" on the back deck railing. It must have really come down at first. Maybe 'over-achieving' will be the theme for this winter. What?.....IT 'COULD' HAPPEN   Hunters, be safe out there this morning. My wife and I will miss out at least today. |

Pouring snow out here at the lake (2 miles southeast of Marissa) I’m guessing around 2 inches on the ground…. Ground is completely covered !
