Cant decide if I want this thing to hit or not. If we lose power for an extended period it will be very uncomfortable.

I must say that this afternoon has been one of the worst afternoons this season as far as humidity Yup, 74 dewpoint seems to be a season high. I still remember last summer when I had to play softball when the dewpoint was 82. Brutal.

I'm just going to hate getting out of town next weekend for a week. Just going to be awful to be sitting up there on the cape in Massachusetts suffering through that 70 some degree temperatures. Next Saturday up there just looks awful. It's supposed to be 78 degrees. Pray for me folks. ;-) Im doubtful that we even hit 78 for a low next weekend here 😱

I work with a guy from Tuscon who said he’d take the Arizona summer easily over ours. Way more comfortable if you just find shade and actually gets below 75 at night.

Did May end up as the hottest ever?
Edit just found my answer: “The National Weather Service reports it was the warmest May on record, with an average temperature of 75.4 degrees.
The previous record was for 73.2 degrees in 2012.”
Ugh, already beating 2012, actually destroyed by 2 degrees. That’s damn hot.

Avg high in May is 76. I hope things mellow out a bit going forward or the next 5 months are going to be torture.

On a side note, I guess it's time to trade the car in. We just went in to have it serviced and I was shocked to find out that after a hundred and fifty-three thousand miles we're going to have to replace the front brake pads. They just don't make cars like they used to. Crazy thing is at this state I'm probably smarter doing a fully loaded replacement. Calipers have to be pretty much worn out or needing to be rebuilt. Not one in the mood to rebuild a caliper. Sarcasm detected? Its like $100 for new brake pads and the easiest DIY job ever.

2012 was definitely a record hot march especially in the upper midwest. I dont remember it getting too bad after that until the last week of June when we started that 10+ days over 100 streak. It didnt feel as bad as our normal 100+ days though because the dewpoint was in the 50s/60s due to the drought. So at least if there is a drought we have lower dewpoints to look forward to. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think we had dew points in the 30's at times during that stretch. I dont remember them getting that low but I could be wrong. I remember low 50s dewpoint on that first day in June that hit 108 and everyone was saying desert airmass. Later in the summer it got humid though with a few 105+ degree days with lows above 80. That summer was hell now that I think about it lol.

I was at my grandparents house glued to the tv watching that beast roll across Missouri. I remember being upset that it missed us to the north and places like blackjack got the storm, the whole time it was in central MO I was rooting for it to turn slightly SE. Later on I was happy that it missed us when I saw all the damage.
I got to experience my own softball sized hail storm at tower grove park in the supercell around 2010-2011, cant remember the exact year.
