We’re at our farm in Vienna in S Illinois close to peak until Monday. We have friends and family start loading in on Friday with their campers, and others trickling in over the weekend. We’re turning it into a 4 day event. If anyone needs a place to view, they are more than welcome.
BTW, we had several rounds of sleet this afternoon.

Weakened rotation heading north side of Marissa. Edit, just extended warning to include Marissa Almost seems like the cell that formed behind the lead one down in Monroe County IL threw both of them into chaos. Rotation looks to be weakening on both of them...as long as it's not just a pulse.

The warm weather and rain has the radishes, turnips and beets resprouting in all my plots at the farm. We’ve had over 10” of rain so far this year in deep S Illinois

I have to come clean with the board. Right after the first of the year, I brought my tractor home from the farm, and bought a box snow pusher for the front of it. So I jinxed this winter. So yesterday I thought, what the heck, we're not getting anything else this year the way things are going. So yesterday morning, I loaded up the tractor and hauled it down to the farm in Vienna, 1-1/2 hours away. Now look what happens today

I was going to head down to our farm in S Illinois(Vienna), for the final days of deer season, but with thunderstorms, flash flooding with up to 2” of rain, and high winds now forecasted, I’m just going to write off this weekend at the farm. 🤦♂️

You are correct, I just checked the gauge online at our farm, and it shows us getting 1.2" in Vienna, and the map only shows .09" in Carbondale which is just North of us Losers & Winners I believe that map went until noon Saturday. I know the far east side definitely had much more rain after noon.

When you measure your snow, go do it in the switchgrass, guaranteed to get the numbers...and a steak dinner...lol BRTN, if we get 3-6” I’m going to drive up to Brighton and buy you a steak dinner I'll hold you to it, and I know just the place! Are we using KSTL or KBRT as the official measurement? I like my chances of at least a ground coating up here. St. Louis, maybe not so much.

I pulled into the farm yesterday down here in Vienna Illinois, and the tulips and daffodils are popping out of the ground already, some are even flowered. There was a inch of frozen sleet and ice here two weeks ago, so bad the schools were closed for almost a week.

Just checked the cameras at the Farm in Vienna Illinois, it’s 33* and about an inch + on the ground and moderate snow. Snowed hard enough to knock out the Starlink. Can’t remember if I have the snow heater on auto, I’ll know in a bit, if the WiFi cameras come back up...lol

Wife and I did a River Road trip yesterday, ending at Pier Marquette. Couldn’t believe the river was froze up solid upstream of the locks, but wide open downstream of the locks.

We were at the Farm this weekend down in Vienna, buttoning up things for next weekends opener. On the way home this afternoon, on I24, I57 and I64, we must have seen 50-75 utility trucks heading south to stage for Ian’s landfall.

Planted 4 acres of sunflowers at the farm this year, for this week’s dove opening. Sure won’t be much migration with these temps. Well, I did put in 9 food plots for the deer this year, maybe the weather will cooperate by then, still another month away. GFS brings in the blow torches for Friday and Saturday. Triple digits. Goodness.

I would say yours is correct, I don't trust my Davis, I need to get that new one ordered. I have never seen our dock this full before. 4.46" According to the Davis, in Mascoutah We are at 6.02". Strange how a mile, at most, makes that much of a difference.

Get yourself a Jack Russell terrier, greatfor eliminating moles. Jealous of the lightning to the NW. Never thought I’d say I wish it would rain… On a good note, I finally got the mole today that’s been destroying the front field.

I’m at the farm in Vienna, in the Shawnee, and it’s been storming since around 5am. Approximately 1.5” so far. Had about a 2 hour break, and getting ready to hit again.we really needed this, especially the food plots. The 3 acres of sunflowers/peas look great, but they have been in the ground for a while, and the Egyptian wheat/ milo looks great that went in at the same time. This rain will really jump start the rest of the plots. We’ve only had .25” this month.

Mascoutah received 1.70” of rain today. We have a lot of wet ag fields with standing water, that may need replanting.
