Looks to almost dried up. Lol These type of systems usually flare up a bit overnight...but it definitely seemed to rain itself out over S MO and fell apart. Hopefully we can pick up some beneficial rainfall the next several days.

I feel like Death Valley is in the news so much that it's almost not fun to talk about anymore... almost. The high yesterday was 127F which I believe is a new record for the hottest September day anywhere on the planet.

probably some of the craziest lightning I've seen/heard in about a decade Friday night. Struck in clear air. Lots of positive bolts (louder and more energetic)

So far we've only received 0.25" total. That batch of heavier precip to the East that prompted FF warning in Montgomery pretty well fell apart as it approached.

Storm total nearing 0.75" up this way...got a few good downpours yesterday. I drove through one on 255 that was almost zero vis. Impressive tropical-like airmass with this system.

Does anyone keep track of yearly rainfall.
IMBY my annual total to date is 43.17 inches. Just curious if that seems accurate as my neighbor and I have tried to keep a tally.
